Intro to the South Beach Diet Plan

What is the South Beach Diet?

The south beach diet is basically made up of three phases:

  • Phase 1: totally eliminate fruit, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, sugar, alcohol, and baked goods
  • Phase 2: can add back in some bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, cereal, or fruit.
  • Phase 3: little restriction while following basic guidelines

What are some of the South Beach Diet's strengths?

The South Beach Diet gets some of the more harmful foods out of a persons diet at least for a time, and focuses them on more nutritional eating.

What are the diet's weaknesses?

The nutritional information seems to be somewhat outdated and the pattern of healthier eating is only temporary in the diet.
